Gifted Ones: Taschen
I just received the latest Taschen catalog in the mail and there were at least 15 books I wanted to order immediately. They are one of the most daring, interesting and innovative publishers around and I love their mix of fashion, celebrity, design and art. I often give Taschen books as gifts and love browsing their store in Beverly Hills. And visionary publisher Benedikt Taschen lives in the Chemosphere — no wonder he always looks happy!

Getting Personal: We Went to a Petting Zoo
And there was this face. And chickens, pigs, bunnies and aggressive kids (I mean baby goats, but there were some agro children too).
Have a good weekend everyone! One of my best friend’s is in town so we’re heading to Orange County tonight to meet her for dinner and I’m going back again on Sunday for some family time.
Tips and Tricks: My 5 Favorite Spots to Shop Online
I still love going to my fave brick-and-mortar spots in L.A., but online shopping has a special place in my heart since web shops are open 24-7 and you don’t have to worry about traffic or crowds. Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or treating yourself, these are some of my all-time favorite places to spend a buck:
Net-A-Porter: When I’m looking for some special, from cocktail dresses to sparkly baubles, Net-A-Porter never disappoints. Their items ship insanely fast and they have a fun online magazine. And for no extra charge they will wrap items in super chic matte black gift boxes.
J.Crew: Classic, preppy style with a whimsical twist is what J.Crew does best. I love finding cute dresses, adorable kid’s wear for gifts and fun accessories like sparkly iPhone covers.
Lulu Guinness: When I want something fun and whimsical (I picked the Silver Glitter Perspex Lips Clutch for my wedding day) it’s all about Lulu Guinness. I particularly love their umbrellas, compacts and key rings.
Zappos: I am always blown away by Zappos. Their items typically arrive within 1-2 days, shipping is free (both ways!) and they have the best customer service. I order everything from shoes and housewares to kids gifts and swimsuits.
ASOS: I discovered ASOS last year and it’s become a staple for me for inexpensive sunglasses, swimwear, cute tops and dresses. This site is great for trendy items that you don’t want to invest a ton on (although they also stock some designer items). Plus, they offer free worldwide shipping — gotta love that!
Most Wanted: Nautical Style
Gifted Ones: The Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama Collection
There’s a color and polka dot explosion happening with the Louis Vuitton-Yayoi Kusama Collection. The Japanese born Kusama was a contemporary of Warhol who voluntarily lives in a mental hospital. You can read more about this fascinating woman here.
Tips and Tricks: Getting Knots Out of Chain Necklaces
I recently had a knot in a gold chain necklace of mine (to avoid this, simply hang your chains on a cute jewelry stand like this one) and it was driving me crazy. I learned that you can get these little knots out by using a safety pin (or two) to lift and separate the chain until it is unraveled. If that doesn’t work, try a drop of baby oil or you can use baby powder, to loosen the chain.

Ask Victoria: Gifts For Those Who Love to Travel?
I love this super-cushioned neoprene Kate Spade iPad Sleeve with a sophisticated “out of office” script message.
The NARS Beach Lover is a five-piece travel-size set for eyes, lips and cheeks that will give you an island glow before you even touch down at your favorite vacation spot.
The rugged cotton Canvas Overnight Bag from J.Crew has an interior pocket for smaller items and antique brass hardware — and you can’t beat the $36.50 price tag!
My secret to a good night sleep is an eye mask, particularly on the plane (don’t forget the ear plugs while you’re at it). I use Mary Green’s silk ones and love the reversible Good Morning/Good Night Sleep Mask.
When I’m traveling internationally I don’t always feel like I’m putting my best face (or hair) forward so it’s nice to at least have a chic passport holder. This one from Smythson is a timeless option.
Instagram Tour: Barker Block Lofts
Two different friends of ours live in the Barker Block Lofts in Downtown’s burgeoning Arts District. We’ve had loft fantasies over the years so it was fun to indulge them on a warm Sunday afternoon.
Most Wanted: Summer Nights
Would you believe that it gets chilly in the evenings (even during the summer) in LA? You can usually get away with a light cardigan or jacket, but I’ve been spying some pretty adorable sweaters and sweatshirts lately.
